RUNGU

Every once in a while an artist wants to create a masterpiece. They do it for many reasons: to test new boundaries, from inspiration, or for the sheer joy of it. At Beartooth Vanworks we thought it was high time for us to do something completely different for all three of the above reasons. Not saying we are Picasso or Van Gogh, but we have built our masterpiece.  “Rungu” is built to our same level of uncompromised Rugged Liberation, but with the artist’s touch, let’s call it Rugged Beauty.  

Rungu’s genesis came from our discovery of African hardwoods harvested from sustainable agroforestry.  These exotic and beautiful woods produce a painter's pallet of color and design from the wood grain. Rungu features African Bubinga. This unique wood is highly sought after for its strength to weight ratio and is used in boat building, tool handles and decorative interiors. This gorgeous wood is initially a pinkish-red, but will darken slightly as it ages.

We started there, and kept going.  As a spec build we were able to get carried away. A stunning new cabinet material, heated floors, a Pop-top “penthouse”, Bison hide cushions, cordless phone chargers, and all the exterior upgrades to make Rungu a backcountry adventure wagon that will get you anywhere.  We dedicated ourselves to making Rungu a masterpiece - and she is.

Premium Features

Glycol In-Floor Heating

Who doesn't want to wake up with heated floors. With pex pipes installed between runners below the sub floor, we are able to run heated glycol below the floor to keep your feet warm and comfortable all winter.


Slide-Out Ski Tray

With a custom, powder coated, aluminum tray that slides out on heavy duty slides, this rear accessed compartment is perfect for keeping your skis secure and hastle free after a day on the mountain.


Hidden Compartments

With so many secret nooks and crannies in these vans, it only made sense to install a hidden safe below the passenger seat. With our entrance step extension, we also added a lock box below the floor.


Pop-Top Camper

The SCA 252 Pop Top is a Mercedes certified pop-top camper and one of the finest available to builders. You not only add a second story to this living space, but the factory warranty remains in tact. A collapsible ladder makes access this space convenient and easy.


FlareSpace Sleeping Extensions

Flares are the perfect way to add space in the rear of the van to fit a full size bed horizontally and add extra space for a lounging in the living quarters.


Wireless Phone Charger

Why bother plugging in your phone when you can simply drop your electronics on the wireless charging counter top. This clean design not only looks sleak but also makes charging a seamless part of the day.


Entrance LED

With an LED strip installed by the entrance step, it is easy to see your step coming in and out of the van.


Interior Lights

With a new diming, touch activated light, you can set whatever mood you want in the van. This feature is also wired to an main switch for easy access.

Bubinga Counters & Accents

With a rare strain of mahogany that is more durrable and has a cleaner finish, we have incorporated Bubinga into all the accents, counters and trim of this van.


Bubinga Striped Ceiling

Bubinga exotic hardwood has also been installed as runners, paired with a painted black ceiling backdrop.


Richlite Cabinets

Richlite is made from 100% recycled paper products. Accents of dark blue and natural wood color pop out from the sides of every cabinet. With a dark blue face, we installed aluminum handles with locking faces to add even more class to this premium van.


Marble Style Floor

With marble style SmartCore flooring, this van provides a durrable, premium finish that is 100% waterproof.


Bison Hides

As a Montana based company it only makes sense to incorporate some of our environmental resources. Died bison hides line the interiors of this vans flare extensions to give it a truly authentic and luxurious Montana feel. These hides are also sewn into the cushion fabrics to add texture and detail.


Upgraded Speakers

With this premium van, we upgraded the sound system in the living space. This system is seperate from the vehicle, which makes it easy to use without turning on the van.


Upgraded Battery Package

Along with an upgraded 600Ah battery bank, we have installed temperature regulation for the inverter and a heated loop for the batteries.


Exterior Water Tank

21G of fresh water is mounted to the bottom of the van and protected by a skid plate. This leaves all that extra room inside the van for storage and amenities.
